Total project value $2 million
Budgetting, Design and Construction of a full refurbishment of the home of the Magpies QAFL club in Chelmer, the heart of Western Brisbane.
The works involved stripping back the internals of the building and installing new mechanical, electrical and Hydrualic services throughout.
When complete the new club will have a refurbished sports lounge, dining hall, bars, entrance, kitchens and canteen to bring the old club into the new age of facilities and services expected the its members and patrons.
Challenges throughout the project were the maintenance of tight budgets, including innovations to ensure that the club spent its grants in the most efficient fashion possible, unexpected asbestos and dealing with the nuisance of an existing building.
The end result will leave a lasting asset for the club and move its facilities into a new era of engagement with the local community
